Several events beginning Saturday morning may cause traffic delays in Boise, according to the Ada County Highway District.

• Beginning Saturday at 6 a.m., Parkcenter Boulevard between Beacon Street and Law Street (pictured) will be closed for the “Race for the Cure.” “This closure will last until noon. Flaggers will be in place to guide motorists around the event, and the Boise City Police will also be on hand,” said ACHD spokeswoman Nicole DuBois.

• The Motorcycle Awareness Rally also takes place Saturday. The following roads will be closed to accommodate that event between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.:

-- 6th Street, State Street to Bannock Street

-- Capitol Boulevard, Bannock Street to Jefferson Street

-- Jefferson Street, 5th Street to 8th Street

“Detour routes will be posted, and flaggers will be on hand to guide motorists around the event,” DuBois said.

• The West YMCA 5K Walk/Run will occur Saturday between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Hobble Creek Subdivision. Motorists traveling in that area can expect minor delays.

• On Sunday (May 8), the east side of Capitol Boulevard between Bannock Street and Jefferson Street, and Jefferson Street between 6th Street and 8th Street will be closed to allow crane work. These portions of roadway will reopen Sunday night.

“Motorists are advised to use extra caution in these areas. Delays can be expected, and motorists should use alternate routes of travel whenever possible,” DuBois stated.
