Warning: don't use muddy trails in Boise...

Posted

With all the snow melting Boise's Ridge to Rivers is reminding everyone to stay off the trails in the foothills if they're muddy.

Running in the numerous trails of the Boise Foothills is a favorite for area runners. But taking a jog on days like this are a recipe for disaster. As the snow turns to water the trails leading to Table Rock or winding around Camelsback Park are turning to mud.

Any activity on them right now can lead to some serious problems. It's not just bikes that erode and expand the track. According to Ridge to Rivers, walking on muddy trails can cause just as much damage.

Before hitting the trails check the Ridge to Riverswebsite to see current conditions. If you come across a muddy spot, do your best to avoid it without straying off the path, simply turn around.
