Voting issues felt at assisted living facility

Posted
Staff members at Grace Assisted Living spent months making sure their residents were registered to vote, but for an unknown reason, their absentee ballots never came.

As a result, they had to load their residents up and take them to an in-person voting site.

Even with the inconvenience, the residents said it was well worth the trouble.

"I've always voted. I'm 93 plus and I have never missed a time to vote. I guess old habits die hard and I just enjoy it," said Mary Johnson, a proud voter.

Grace Assisted Living said voting officials did everything they could to make the process easier. They even allowed residents to vote on the bus to save them the trouble of having to physically go into the polling booth.
