Volunteers are getting ready for the first official Boise Hemp Fest to take place Saturday, August 13, 2016.
The free, family friendly event starts at the bandshell in Julia Davis Park at 10 a.m.
The festival will feature live music, entertainment, concessions, and educational booths.
"Cannabis is very much a part of our past,' event organizer Serra Frank says. "It will be very much a part of our future, and it is quickly becoming our present. So, it's time for that education to be there."
Smoking marijuana is not allowed at the event. Boise Police will also be in attendance.
