Dozens of volunteers are packing boxes full of gifts for children in need around the world. It's all part of Samaritan's Purse's annual project, Operation Christmas Child.

Shoeboxes are filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items, which will be sent to kids across the globe.

The Boise team hopes to collect more than 17,000 shoebox gifts until next week.

"We have 147 million boxes out there since 1993," said Barbara Place, central drop-off team leader. "We are hoping to have, and praying to have, another 12 million boxes going out."

The boxes will be delivered to children in 104 countries.

If you'd like to pitch in, the deadline to drop off a shoebox at Ustick Baptist Church in Boise is Monday, Nov. 20.
