Two suspects -– both men -– are now in custody following a shooting in a west Boise neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
According to an Ada County Sheriff’s Office three deputies went to a home in the 9900 block of West Granger to serve an arrest warrant on 65-year-old Robert Coy for a felony charge of falsifying documents.
Deputies were trying to arrest Coy, who was resisting when 34-year-old Bryan Coy, the suspect's son fired a pistol at the officers. Deputies returned fire.
Bryan Coy was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A warrant has been issued for Coy on a charge of aggravated assault with a one million dollar bond. Once he is released from the hospital he will be moved to the Ada County Jail and booked on the felony assault warrant.
Robert Coy was transported to the Ada County Jail were he was booked on a felony charge of offering a false or forged instrument. He is being held on a $10,000 bond. Additional charges are possible.
The three officers who fired at Coy are Sgt. Pat Schneider who has been with the ACSO for 17 years, Deputy Ryan Donelson who have been with the agency for 12 years, and Deputy Terry Lakey who has been with ACSO for 11 years.
The Critical Incident Task Force is conducting and independent investigation.
