Oregon Department of Transportation crews have now re-opened westbound lanes of Interstate 84 in eastern Oregon.
Earlier, bad weather conditions –- packed snow over ice and heavy fog in some areas -– had prompted ODOT to shut down the lanes.
The route was closed between Ontario (Exit 374) and La Grande (Exit 265).
The eastbound freeway remains open.
“Winter weather continues to create challenging road conditions and travelers are advised to plan extra time, or postpone travel if possible until conditions improve,” according to an ODOT news release.
