The University of Idaho is expected to make a big announcement on Thursday about the future of it's football program where it will end up.
The move comes after the Sun Belt Conference announced last month it would not renew the Vandal’s membership after the 2017 season.
Multiple sources claim the Vandals will end up in the Big Sky Conference which would allow for a renewal of regional rivalries in the Pacific Northwest.
The Vandals have spent 20 seasons at the FBS level since 1996.
Since that move in 1996, the Vandals have appeared in just two bowl games. The program has seen seven different head coaches and only Chris Tormey, who coached the team in 1995 and 1996, had a winning record with the program.
