BOISE, Idaho — The University of Idaho's newest athletic director is breaking barriers in history. The first woman has been hired to fill the position.
Terry Gawlik was named to the position after the Idaho State Board of Education voted unanimously to approve her contract. Gawlik was one of 59 applicants.
"I plan to be visible, engaged and energized with our athletic department and campus, so I hope everybody will jump on board. Go Vandals!" said Gawlik.
Gawlik will start her new job on September 1. Her 5 year contract includes a base salary of $200,000.
