Two more people have been arrested in a Meridian shoplifting case in which police say a suspect brandished a knife at a store employee.

Shortly before noon Monday, officers were dispatched to the Kohls department store near Ustick and Eagle Roads, for a call of a suspected shoplifter who pulled a knife on a store employee.

With help from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and the Boise Police Department, Meridian officers set up a perimeter in the area and eventually located one of three suspects. Police identified him as Aaron Moritz, 26, of Boise.

Meridian Police Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea said Moritz jumped out of the suspect vehicle shortly before investigators located it not far from the store where the crime reportedly took place.

Police found Moritz in front of a local restaurant in the 3500 block of North Eagle Road, where he was taken into custody about 12:10 p.m.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail for aggravated assault and burglary.

Officers later arrested Kimberly Hale, 39, of Meridian, and Ryan Morgan, 28, of Boise. Basterrechea said Hale drove the getaway car. She was arrested on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant and a felony probation violation warrant. Hale was also charged with burglary.

Morgan was arrested for petit theft.
