Two IDOC inmates back in custody after walking away

BOISE, Idaho — Two inmates who walked away from the Idaho Department of Correction's South Boise Women's Correctional Center are back in custody.

Kesha Lyric Kandler and Whitney Ann Wickwire were reported missing at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday. Ada County Sheriff's deputies found the women a short distance from the facility near the intersection of Gowen Road and Pleasant Valley Road around 9 p.m.

Kandler was sentenced in Canyon County for possession of a controlled substance. The sentence was suspended and she was ordered to participate in IDOC's retained jurisdiction program. Kandler was scheduled to have completed the program on November 6, 2020.

Wickwire was sentenced in Kootenai County for possession of a stolen vehicle in Kootenai County. That sentence was also suspended, and she was ordered to participate in IDOC's retained jurisdiction program. She was scheduled to have completed the program on October 27, 2020.
