BOISE, Idaho — Garden City police have arrested a man wanted on a $500,000 warrant for felony kidnapping.

25-year-old John Lopez also faces charges of aggravated assault, attempted strangulation and domestic battery.

Police say a 29-year-old woman claims Lopez tied her up, strangled her, threatened her with a knife and and locked her in a wooden box for hours inside a residence on the 3900 block of Zinnia Street in Garden City back on October 29th.

Authorities say the woman eventually escaped to call the police from a neighbor's house and Lopez fled the scene.

Police say they found Lopez on Friday, January 18th, in a home on the 1900 block of North 32nd Street in Boise.

Police took Lopez into custody around 4:00 p.m.

Lopez is set to be arraigned on Tuesday, January 22 at 1:30 p.m.
