Six On Your Side introduced you to Ariana Woods a couple of weeks ago.

We spoke with the 17-year-old, who is aspiring to be in the Winter Olympics one day, before she competed in the national biathlon competition.

Woods vied for the top spot in three different categories at nationals. She won the gold medal for her age group in the "mass start" category. She did so completing the cross-country ski laps and shooting rounds in 28 minutes and 11 seconds. The finishing time for the runner-up was nine seconds behind her.

"It shows that even if you have a few bad races you can definitely come back and that all your training can come together," Woods said. "It gives me some hope that I can keep going and train all summer and hopefully be even better next year."

In about a month, Woods will be back in her hometown -- McCall. She also mountain bikes and enters into local paddle board races.
