A trailer was badly damaged after an overnight fire on Fairview Avenue in Boise. Police closed a section of Fairview between Cloverdale and Eagle as fire crews worked to put out the blaze. Police say neighbors in the area saw smoke coming from the home and called 911 at 12:47 a.m.
When fire crews arrived on scene smoke was coming out of both sides of the structure.
"We blocked off Fairview to east and westbound travel....our nearest hydrant was across the street from the trailer park so we need more water that is in the fire engines," said Boise Fire Captain Don Fry. "So we had to hook up to that hydrant and at that point when we blocked the street I called for the police department to shut down traffic."
We're told that the former tenants had moved out just two days ago. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but fire crews say several fires in the area have been suspicious and encourage anyone who sees anything out of the ordinary in the area to call 911.
