BOISE, Idaho — Update: Avenue B is reopened to traffic as of 3 p.m. on Monday. Road closures began today for the placement of the new Skybridge at the downtown St. Lukes Hospital.

East Jefferson will be the first street to reopen once the bridge is officially in place. That is anticipated to be Sunday evening, but is dependent on the progress of the project. Avenue B will reopen after bridge safety and quality checks are complete, and ACHD conditions of approval are met. Those inspections are taking place Monday through Wednesday next week.

Divers, cyclists, and pedestrians should use Idaho Street to the south and Fort and Reserve Streets to the north. The Reserve roundabout will be open. Access to the St. Lukes Emergency Department and Bannock Street will remain open throughout the Skybridge installation process.

The Skybridge will be used to connect the new Idaho Elks Children's Pavilion to the St. Lukes Children's Hospital.
