BOISE, Idaho — If you commute in the downtown Boise area, heads up!
Three lanes of Myrtle Road between 13th and 8th street will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to repair a leaking underground water pipe. Lane closures on Capital Blvd between Front and Main streets will remain in place.
The Idaho Transportation Department is urging motorists to drive carefully and obey the posted signs.
“The immediate repair of the water line is necessary to reduce damage to the roadway," said ITD District 3 Engineer Amy Revis. "We are working with SUEZ to restore the water line and minimize damage to the roadway.”
The repairs will require existing pavement to be removed to access the leak. It will be patched with new asphalt when repairs are complete. SUEZ Water, the owner of the pipe, will cover all costs for these repairs.
