The total solar eclipse is just hours away and 6 On Your Side has crews in towns across the state.  From Weiser to Horseshoe Bend to Cascade we're keeping an eye on things as people get ready for the eclipse.

Towns throughout Idaho in the path of totality have been preparing for the big day for months in anticipation of huge crowds.

While it is still early, so far there have been no traffic issues on I-84, Highway 55 or Highway 95.  Our crews say traffic is steadily increasing but there haven't been any backups.

Weiser High School Principal Dave Davies says there are still parking spots available for people by the school near the golf course for people who may be thinking about a trip to the path of totality.

In Cascade, we've spoken with people who made the trip from as far away as Israel to see the eclipse.

We will be keeping an eye on traffic issues around the Treasure Valley as people start making their way to their eclipse viewing destinations and will bring you updates as they come into the newsroom.
