BOISE, Idaho — First there was Lime, then Bird and now Spin. Spin is the latest scooter company to head to the Treasure Valley. They are owned by Ford Motor Company.

Right now, Spin is seeking a license from the city and they held a safety seminar yesterday to meet a city requirement. If all goes as planned, the new scooters will be on the streets by mid-March.

Alysia Montano, with Spin scooters, says they're excited to roll out in Boise. "Micro-mobility is the wave of the future. It's about helping to save the planet too by lowering emissions. So if you have a better choice than riding in cars, we want to be part of that."

Like Lime and Bird, Spin will also require users to download an app to their smartphones and will require $5 to be in a user's account before starting their ride. Once the scooter has been activated, riders will be charged 15 cents per minute.
