BOISE, Idaho — It's that time of year!

A herd of sheep will be heading into the Boise foothills Monday morning.

If your commute involves Highway 55 at Beacon Light, you might see some delays as the herd crosses the highway.

It's definitely a special sight, and you're welcome to go check it out for yourself if you want to snap some photos, but please keep a safe distance.

A sheep rancher from Wilder will escort the herd across Highway 55 around 9:00 Monday morning.

The sheep will then spend the next few months grazing in the foothills to help cut down on fire fuels. That also means hikers and bikers should be on the lookout for sheep, especially those recreating with dogs.
