The annual "Purple Heart Truck Run" will stop by the Idaho State Capital building on Monday.

The truck is on a mission to rally communities to thank our country's veterans and their families. This years truck is a custom build Ford F-150 that is equipped with special hand controls and seats that lower to the ground for easy wheelchair access.

Organizers stopped by the Idaho State Veteran's home today and started the festivities early.

Two veterans are driving the truck almost 8,000 miles from coast to coast, making their final stop in Spokane, Washington. There they will present the truck to an army sergeant who lost the bottom of his legs fighting in Afghanistan.

Festivities begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Capital building.
