Ten local military families were surprised with $1,300 worth of groceries Tuesday, Oct. 17.
The families went on a grocery shopping spree, thanks to a partnership between the Echrich brand and Albertsons. The companies say its their way of honoring, thanking and supporting military families.
Each family was also awarded a $1,000 gift card to Albertsons to use later.
"Then they surprised us with $1,000, and that actually brought a tear to my eye," said David Tippery, member of the United States Air Force. "...we're just so blessed and thankful."
Echrich, now in its sixth year of partnership with Operation Homefront to support military families, has donated more than $2.5 million to the organization since 2012.
