Teens take part in 'Chalkheart Challenge'

Among the activities at Julia Davis Park, more than 60 local middle and high school students took part in a chalk art exhibit.

The teens used the chalk to illustrate published poems from the 2016 Our Gender Revolution Poetry Book.

The challenge provides students the chance to show an illustrated look at gender equality.

The teens say they hope to create social change through art.

If you didn't get a chance to check out the exhibit, the group will take photos of the artwork and make them into books and posters to spread the word throughout the community.
