Two treasure valley teens are in the hospital tonight after being hit by a car in Meridian.

The accident happened just after 4:30 Saturday at the intersection of Ten Mile and Cherry Lane.

A car traveling northbound struck the kids.

A hat, shoes, and a skateboard were still visible in the crosswalk when our crew arrived on scene.
Witnesses tell On Your Side the teens looked to be crossing the street responsibly.

"At first I thought that the car hit a backpack. Then I realized that it was a kid. I pulled a little further forward and there was another boy laying in the road," said Natalie Morris. "The driver stopped right away, and there was a guy, I believe from the Army that walked up and covered him with his coat."

The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.
