NAMPA — A 16-year-old Nampa High school student is being treated for what police are calling “likely non-life-threatening injuries” after he was struck by a driver at 12th Avenue Road and Colorado streets Thursday morning.

The accident happened about 7:40 a.m.

According to Nampa Police Department Sgt Tim Riha, the boy was crossing in a crosswalk at the time he was struck by a 75-year-woman driving a 2005 Kia minivan.

The boy was transported to a Nampa hospital for treatment.

“The crosswalk is lighted and signals were functioning,” Riha stated.

12th Avenue Road was shut down for about one hour, he added.

Police are still investigating.

No citation has been issued yet.

Police said the driver is cooperating with officers. The woman’s name has not yet been released.
