UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Sean S. Hurst, 34, of Boise. Hurst has been booked into the Ada County Jail and is charged with felony aggravated assault after being treated at an area hospital. He is being held without bail.
The investigation is ongoing.
ORIGINAL STORY: Boise Police officers responded to the Fairview Crossing apartments Tuesday afternoon regarding service of a protection order. Officers had information that the subject of the protection order had threatened the protected party with a knife.
The suspect refused to speak with police and was inside a third story apartment. Officers ensured the safety of the protected party and attempted to make contact with the suspect. No one but the suspect was in the apartment and around 7:00 p.m.
Nearby apartments in the building were evacuated as a precaution while officers attempted to get the suspect to come out peacefully. With the assistance of a police K9, Officers were able to take the suspect into custody around 1:30 Wednesday morning. The suspect received minor injuries from the K9 and was taken to the hospital for treatment of a prior medical issue. He remains in the hospital this morning and charges are pending.
