A Fruitland man is in custody after police say he shot and killed a man in Ontario, then lead police on a chase into Idaho and through two counties.
Ontario Police say they found a deceased 38-year-old man in the parking lot of the Los Portrillos Restaurant after responding to reports of a dispute at the restaurant at around 10:30 Sunday morning.
That's where they say the suspect, Jaime Escobedo, got into an argument with the unidentified victim and fatally shot him before leaving the scene.
Escobedo was later spotted near Enterprise Blvd near Highway 201 by Nyssa Police and lead officers on an hour-long chase through Canyon and Payette Counties. After running off on foot, police finally caught Escobado near I-84 and Sand Hollow Road.
Escobedo has been booked into the Payette County Jail.
Police have not identified the victim, and are investigating the incident.
