The Ada County Sheriff’s Office says there has been a string of vehicle break-ins around Star this week.
So far no damage to any car has been done, just opportunistic thieves taking advantage of unlocked doors. Police call this “jockey boxing” and say it’s very common.
The neighborhood south of Floating Feather and Star roads, and on Union Way, Cottage Cove Way, and Rose Lake Street had items stolen from unlocked cars earlier this week. Those items include sunglasses, bluetooth headsets, cash, and a digital camera.
Police say the best and easiest way to avoid being a victim is to make sure your home and vehicles are locked.
