If you can’t wait for Thursday evening’s premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to get your “Star Wars” fix, there are a number of movie-themed family-friendly community events set to be held in Boise and Nampa.
“Star Wars Day” is scheduled to be held at the Nampa Public Library Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
According to the Library’s website, the day-long slate of activities includes:
10:15 a.m. -- A special storytime in the Library lobby, followed by snacks. Children can dress in their favorite “Star Wars” character costumes for a contest and parade
1 p.m. –- The film “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” will be shown on the first floor
3 p.m. -- Costume contest and parade for teens and adults in the lobby
4 p.m. – The film “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” will be shown on the first floor
4 p.m. -- Teen Trivia in the Board room, third floor
6 p.m. -- Adult Trivia in the Board room, third floor
The event also includes computer games, a “Star Wars” LEGO Display, a picture-taking station (where fans can pose with cardboard cut-outs of “Star Wars” characters), board games, a coloring contest and more.
Elsewhere, at 6:30 p.m. -– thirty minutes before local theatres debut the latest installment of the franchise -– a “Star Wars” party will be held at the Lake Hazel branch of the Ada Community Library at 10489 Lake Hazel Road in Boise.
Organizers say the event will include Build-a-Droid workshops and “Star Wars”-themed snacks, games and learning activities. Those attending are invited to dress up as their favorite “Star Wars” character.
