Police have arrested two teenage boys who may be responsible for breaking into dozens of cars over the past weeks in Star and Eagle.

Police say the boys admitted to breaking into at least 10 to 15 cars in Star and as many as two dozen in Eagle.

Just last week 6 On Your Side was in Star when police first got reports of the burglaries.

Police say they caught the 16 and 17 year old boys just before 3 a.m. on Sunday after a resident heard someone close a car door in his driveway. That resident went outside to confront three burglars, who dropped what they had and ran.

Police responded to the call and caught two of the boys walking on N. Paddington Way. Phone chargers, cash, and sunglasses were found in their backpack.

Deputies have released the two boys to their parents and have identified the third and are currently looking for him.

All three of the boys will be charged after the Ada County juvenile prosecutor reviews the case.

Police say the boys targeted unlocked cars and warn people that the best way to keep from becoming a victim is to lock your doors.
