BOISE, Idaho — Many businesses have been hit hard during COVID-19, especially local small businesses. That is what this weekend is all about, Small Business Saturday is a national event the occurs every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year downtown Boise is hosting a whole weekend dedicated to some of your local favorites.

"Small Business Saturday is the kickoff to a busy Christmas season," said Cynthia Fogdall, owner of Taters, located on Main Street in downtown Boise.

With the Christmas season finally upon us, you might be thinking of buying your gifts online, but many of the businesses who are participating in this event have products that would be great gifts this time of year.

"Small Business Saturday is one of our busiest Saturdays that we have of the year, you know, so it's always nice to see a lot of people coming in and supporting small businesses, local businesses, and we're always very thankful for that," said Jason Stack.

Stack, owner of The Chocolat Bar located on Bannock Street, says he really appreciates the positivity the store receives from the Treasure Valley community. "They continue to really praise us, you know, for being here and continuing to stay open, and being available for those gifts."

If you would like to support business local to the Treasure Valley you can head to the Downtown Boise website for more information.
