Sidney Donaldson, of Boise, is turning lemons into lemonade in honor of her son, Jorge, who has been battling cancer for more than a year. Jorge was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June of 2017 and has gone through months of aggressive chemotherapy.

After watching her son battle cancer, Sidney decided to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer.

Donaldson held a lemonade stand Saturday on the Boise Bench to help make a difference for kids like her son, battling some form of cancer. She started her stand with a modest goal of raising $50 and hopes that money will fund one hour of cancer research. All of her proceeds will benefit the national Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

"Alex's Lemonade Stand is a non-profit for kids who have childhood cancer," volunteer Kris Lindsay stated. "Beating cancer one cup at a time you just have to come out, get a cup of lemonade, and it all goes towards fighting childhood cancer."
