BOISE, Idaho — Fred Meyers shoppers across the Treasure Valley Saturday are filling ValleyRide buses with new, unwrapped toys for kids of all ages ahead of Christmas.
The Salvation Army will distribute the items to families in need throughout the community.
“We always imagine a child that may wake up to not have a present for Christmas, and that would be super sad, and so we want to help those who may not be able to afford to buy presents for their kids,” Inter-Mountain Gas Consumer Specialist Tracy Verbanac said.
Last year, they collected more than 2,000 toys. In the 20 years Valley Regional Transit has participated in Stuff the Bus, more than 130,000 toys have been donated.
