The Pennsylvania-based executive search firm Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates will lead the search to find Boise State University’s next president, the Idaho Board of Education announced Tuesday.

“Storbeck/Pimentel was selected from a list of six firms that submitted proposals. The firm specializes in conducting executive searches in the education and nonprofit sectors and is also leading the search for the University of Idaho’s next president,” said State Board of Education spokesman Mike Keckler.

State Board President Dr. Linda Clark and other Board members will serve on a screening committee to vet candidates. Dr. Clark will serve as committee chair. The rest of the committee makeup will be determined by Clark, in consultation with members of the Boise State campus community.  That process will begin immediately, Keckler stated.

“We have a solid interim president in place at Boise State, and with the academic year just beginning, this is the optimal time to start the search for Boise State’s next president,” Clark pointed out. “We will get started right away putting together our screening committee, which will include student, faculty and staff representatives among others. We will seek input from the Boise State campus community and we will keep them informed throughout the process.”

According to the company’s website, “Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates was founded with the intent to focus on executive search in the education and nonprofit sectors. Our mastery of search in these areas is grounded in our knowledge of the sector as a whole, and the rigorous understanding that we pursue of the particular culture, challenges, and aspirations of each of our client institutions.

“With this deep knowledge comes the ability to identify the qualifications and personal attributes that distinguish the preparedness of each candidate. Our network and years of experience have given us the ability to identify and evaluate the finest executives of all backgrounds, whether we are supporting a search for a chancellor, president, CEO, vice president, dean, or other senior position.”

The Board plans to select a new Boise State president early next year and have the new president in place on campus at the beginning of the next fiscal year, which starts July 1, 2019.

The same timeframe is in place for the University of Idaho president search.

Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates will be paid $78,400 plus out-of-pocket expenses by Boise State University.
