BOISE, Idaho — June is Idaho Wine and Cider Month, a time dedicated to learning about, tasting and supporting the growing wine industry.

The Idaho Wine Commission, wineries, cideries and restaurants are hosting a variety of events throughout the month, and just one of those events will be held Sunday.

The 11th annual "Savor Idaho" event is the state's premiere wine and food event at the Idaho Botanical Garden. Food and wine samples were available for tasting, and attendees could take their favorite bottles home with them.

Since former Governor Butch Otter declared June "Idaho Wine Month" a decade ago, the Idaho wine industry has grown by thirty percent.

Idaho wineries contribute more than 170 million dollars to the Idaho economy every year.

Governor Brad Little got into the Idaho Wine Month spirit Friday, handing out signed bottles of locally made wine.

The event is already sold out, but you can find a full list of Idaho Wine and Cider Month events here.
