BOISE, Idaho — The Santa Bucks campaign, an annual collaboration between Albertsons and the Idaho Foodbank, has provided 2,055 full turkey dinners with mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and rolls this year.

Albertsons employees and customers teamed up during the campaign. Santa Bucks is a continuation of the Turkey Bucks campaign that started back in October. Shoppers at 15 Albertsons locations in the Treasure Valley and Pocatello were given the opportunity to make a $1, $5 or $10 donation at the register.

The Turkey Bucks campaign generated 4,529 meals. With both campaigns combined, over 6,580 Idaho homes will have a special meal this holiday season.

“Food brings people together,” said Karen Vauk, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank. “That is why we are sincerely thankful to Albertsons and their customers for stepping up every year to give their neighbors in need the chance to gather around the table to share a meal and memory with their loved ones.”

Albertsons has collaborated with the Idaho Foodbank for over 15 years on these seasonal campaigns to help Idahoans. Albertsons says their goal is to donate more meals than the previous year.

"Our customers and hard-working associates show such generosity through these holiday campaigns”, said John Colgrove, Division President at Albertsons Companies. “We are humbled by the support they give to our community year after year. They are truly changing the holiday for families in need.”
