While many of us are busy finalizing details on Thanksgiving dinner, the Salvation Army is already gearing up for Christmas. They've been busy providing Thanksgiving food boxes for seniors.
About 500 families have already signed up to receive Christmas toys and bell ringing has already begun at Fred Meyer and Albertsons stores.

"There's actually five fewer bell ringing days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so we're really concerned about the financial impact that's going to have on all of the programs that we are providing which does get to be rather expensive," said Robert Lloyd, Salvation Army's Treasure Valley coordinator.

There is still a need for volunteers to ring bells. Head to https://cascade.salvationarmy.org/cascade2/ring-idaho to register to volunteer. All the bell ringing funds stay locally to help provide services year round.
