BOISE, Idaho — Starting Monday, work will begin on the Boise River Greenbelt mural. Public artist Kristen Ramirez and her team will paint the retaining walls in the underpass of the Fairview Avenue bridge.

A single lane closure is required on the greenbelt. That closure starts Monday morning and will stay in place through next Saturday.

Greenbelt users are encouraged to use caution when going through the bridge underpass and in and around the work zone.

Ramirez was chosen earlier this year to paint a mural in honor of the Greenbelt's 50th anniversary.

"Initially the call was just for the retaining walls, and I thought, what a cool opportunity to paint this whole tunnel and really make it an immersive experience, because you have so many people traveling through all the time, and so I thought lets hit the whole tunnel," Ramirez said.
