Through an Emmett-based program, some kids with special needs gain enough balance to confidently jump on two-wheels.
However, Ride for Joy is actually a therapeutic horseback riding program. They also work with veterans struggling with Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder.
An instructor and one of the board members is raising money Saturday by embarking on a 63-mile bike ride through the Treasure Valley.
"We all know someone who could be impacted by a program like this," says Cathy Strange, one of the Ride for Joy board members. "They just come out feeling like they're important. They come out feeling like they can volunteer and be more productive in society."
The services are offered practically for free and caring for horses isn't cheap. So, any support helps.
