Primary Health loaned 1,400 Moderna vaccines to St. Luke's after severe weather caused shipping delays, allowing the hosptial system to keep vaccine appointments.

St. Luke's spokeswoman Anita Kissee said the hospital system found out shipping delays held up the vaccine, which put 1,400 appointments at risk.

After reaching out, Primary Health offered to lend St. Luke's the necessary vaccines to keep the weekend appointments. Once the shipments arrive, Kissee said the hospital system will return the same amount back.

"St. Luke’s appreciate Primary Health’s willingness to share this precious resource and to lend a helping hand," Kissee said in a news release. "Primary Health has been a great partner through this pandemic and their actions today demonstrate again, how valuable it is to have all health care organizations working together for the greater good."
