Idaho Falls Police arrested 47?year?old Merle L. Parsons for possession of child pornography Wednesday.
According to reports, officers received information on Monday that an unidentified man was at the Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift Store, 255 N. Woodruff in Idaho Falls, taking inappropriate photos of two young girls with his cell phone. “The man left the store before police arrived, but police obtained pictures of the suspect and identified him as Parsons,” said Idaho Falls Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen.
Parsons, of Idaho Falls, was located Wednesday night at a home near U.S. Highway 20 and Hitt Road. “He was found in possession of numerous images of child pornography on his cell phone,” Hansen stated.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office also arrested Parsons, a registered sex offender, for failing to register a change of address.
Parsons was booked into the Bonneville County Jail
