The Idaho State Police released new information Thursday on a shooting outside a home Tuesday night in Middleton.
A 42-year-old man is recuperating in a Boise hospital after being shot in the upper leg.
According to Idaho State Police spokesman Tim Marsano, the shooting happened about 11 p.m. near the intersection of Hawthorne and West Second Streets in Middleton.
Police later arrested Daniel Shaffner.
He's been booked into the Canyon County Jail on an attempted murder charge.
Originally, police said the shooting was the result of disagreement over money. On Thursday, ISP spokesman Tim Marsano said, “The victim did not know the suspect, but was shot by the suspect (with a handgun) following a verbal argument.”
Investigators are not releasing any further information, citing the ongoing investigation.
