Police: Pursuit leads to DUI arrest in Payette County

PAYETTE COUNTY, Idaho — A Homedale woman is in the Payette County Jail after a chase that went between two counties.

On July 21 at 12:12 a.m., the Payette County Sheriff's Office assisted the Canyon County Sheriff's Office on a pursuit that began in Canyon County. Canyon County Deputies stopped the vehicle on suspicion of DUI before the pursuit began.

39-year-old Crystal Boggs called Payette County dispatch during the pursuit to ask officials to stop chasing her.

The pursuit ended around 12:30 a.m. on US Highway 95 near NW 1 1/2 Avenue in Fruitland after Boggs' vehicle was spiked. A Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) was used on the vehicle during the pursuit for public safety. Boggs was removed from the vehicle after officials broke the drivers side window.

They Payette County Sheriff's Office arrested Boggs for DUI and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer, which is a felony. She was also cited for failing to use a seat belt and operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license.

Boggs was taken to St. Luke's in Fruitland for minor cuts before being transported to the Payette County Jail.
