GARDEN CITY, Idaho — A Garden City man has been arrested after firing a handgun during a domestic violence incident. Around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, Garden City Police responded to a report of domestic violence on 43rd Street.

As officers were responding, dispatch reported a male suspect was armed with a handgun and a female victim was running from the home. When police were arriving in the area, it was reported the man fired a shot from the handgun.

There were no injuries as a result of the shot fired and Dwight J. Murphy was arrested in the driveway of the home. When the investigation was finished, Murphy was taken to the Ada County Jail and was booked for Aggravated Assault (Felony).

Murphy will make his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
