Nampa Police officers are investigating what caused the driver of a vehicle to veer off a street, crash into a sign, then plow into a building Friday morning.

The accident happened about 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of  12th Avenue and 4th Street South.

According to a Nampa Police officer, a male driver was heading north on 12th Avenue when, for some reason, he veered off the street, crashed into a sign of the Rock, Paper, Scissors beauty salon, then smashed into the wall of the Blackbird Studios tattoo parlor.

The accident caused extensive damage to both the sign and the building.

No one was in either business at the time, police said.

The driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.  His name and age were not immediately available.

Officers say the driver will likely be cited for inattentive driving.
