CALDWELL— An inmate who escaped from Canyon County jail was recaptured on Sunday.
On December 5, 2015, at about 9:30 p.m. Jesus Manuel Cuevas, 26, of Wilder, escaped from the Canyon County Detention Center.
Cuevas had been housed in the tent dorm structure as a general population, minimum security inmate for multiple counts of grand theft and a driving violation charges.
While participating in outdoor recreation time, Cuevas scaled the barb-wire topped security fence and left the area on foot. A short time later, deputies detected Cuevas was missing from the facility.
The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and Caldwell Police Department located Cuevas at a residence in the 100 block of Parkhurst in Caldwell at about 2:20 a.m. on December 6, 2015.
He was taken into custody without incident. He will be facing additional escape charges.
