A Redding, California woman has been booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony drug trafficking charge -– after police say they found more than sixteen pounds of pot in her vehicle.

About 4:15 p.m. Saturday, May 5th, police officers patrolling near North Benjamin Lane and West Franklin Road in west Boise noticed a driver failing to maintain the lane and driving recklessly.

Officers pulled the car over and, while speaking with the driver, could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to a Boise Police Department news release.

With help from a police K-9, officers say they found over sixteen pounds of marijuana in plastic bags in the woman’s possession. “Some of the marijuana was in the form of wax and shatter, which is marijuana that has been processed and contains a higher potency of THC,” the release said.

Officers believe the woman, identified as 26-year-old Priscilla Brooks, had made multiple trips from California to Boise with large amounts of marijuana.

Brooks was booked on a felony marijuana trafficking charge.
