BOISE — A Boise man faces ten felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child after police say they found him in possession of sexually explicit material involving minors.

Christopher Rodriguez, 29, was booked into the Ada County Jail shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

“In late February, Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit detectives and members of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force began investigating the sharing and possession of illicit online material involving minors linked to a residence in Boise,” said Boise Police spokesman Ryan Larrondo.

Detectives forwarded their investigation on to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office -- and a judge signed a warrant for the search of Rodriguez’ home on the 1300 block of N. Hartman Street in Boise.

Officers searched the home Tuesday and identified Rodriguez as the man suspected of possessing sexually explicit digital content involving children, Larrondo said.

“Investigators located evidence that the files, which contained illicit material, were downloaded at that address,” he explained.

And he emphasized, “At this time, we do not have any evidence that Rodriguez knew any of the children he (reportedly) possessed images and videos of.”

Rodriguez was charged with ten felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor child and one felony count of destruction of evidence. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors.

The investigation is still ongoing and detectives ask anyone with any information about Rodriguez being in contact with any children to call Boise Police at 208-570-6294.
