The Pioneer Fire sits at 81,450 acres and remains at 50 percent contained this morning.
Firefighters say the threat to the area around the town of Lowman is on the decline thanks to burnout operations earlier this week, but the following areas remain under a level two evacuation order: Banks Lowman Road, MP 31 to Lowman, North Shore Drive, Lower Bear Valley Road, Lowman Home Road, the west side of Highway 21 and Junction Banks on Lowman Road, at MP 73 and Hall Drive.
Crews are mopping up a spot fire above Long Gulch but say other than that the western flank of the fire north of Highway 17 has not grown for a number of days.
Fire managers say a cold front moving in will bring winds with it that will likely impact the fire over the next several days.
They expect the fire to remain active during the day until inversions at night help calm things down.
