Troopers with Idaho State Police are investigating a two vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 13, northeast of Parma.
According to investigators, Lavern Ford, 71, of Jefferson, Oregon was driving eastbound on the interstate in a 2015 Freightliner semi-truck pulling a box trailer. They say that Ford drove off the right shoulder of the roadway around 3:29 a.m. Sunday. Police say that when Ford returned to the road, he crossed through the median into westbound traffic, striking a 2004 Toyota Sienna driven by Gloria Estes, 57, of Kennewick, Washington.
Ford and Estes were transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise. Paul Ford, 44, a passenger in the semi, was taken by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.
Police say that Estes was wearing a seatbelt, but neither man in the semi-truck was wearing a seatbelt.
The westbound slow lane was blocked for approximately four hours. The crash is still under investigation.
