Over the weekend, Fish and Game officers killed a mountain lion suspected of killing someone's pet. A Ketchum resident spotted the six to seven year old cougar in her yard around the same time her neighbor's dog went missing.

Fish and Game says the dog was found dead and the cougar was spotted near it.

Officers tracked the big cat to a nearby area where they killed it.

"We euthanized the lion safely, quickly and humanely, in accordance with our protocol for lions that show habituation to humans or pets in residential areas," Fish and Game's Magic Valley Region Supervisor Craig White said.
